Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who managed to move between the genres of country and mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop world. The singer also swept the entire globe in the process. Swift removed herself from country music like a second-skin, and revealed that she had the best pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to follow the zeitgeist of popular music out on the road. Swift's first hits, particularly their neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was beginning to discover herself, and finding a large audience. The album was a huge success, not just in the United States, having six platinum-certified singles. The Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. But, it also did well all over the world. Swift managed to build upon her progress with Speak Now almost two year later. In the three subsequent albums (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012, 1989 2014 along with Reputation 2017 -- Swift's fame only grew. This was a sure sign she had moved to an entirely new world of pop which she was able to fit into. She stayed in the forefront of pop even when she dropped her own style on her sister albums folklore & Evermore in 2020.
