Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ "goUmez"/s@-LEE'n@ GOH-m born on July 22, 1992) is an American singer, actress, and producer. Gomez began her acting career with the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). At the age of a teenager, Gomez became famous for her role as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Gomez was also a participant in the television series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she'll appear on The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's films from 2012-2022. Gomez is the executive producer for the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also has a role in the Hulu mystery-comedy series Only Murders in the Building (21-21-222). Gomez was recognized for her work, and she received nominations for a Golden Globe Award. She also received a Primetime Emmy Award for producer.
Gomez, who was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. All of them reached the top ten on the US Billboard 200. The albums were all certified gold and received the Recording industry Association of America's (RIAA). Her first solo album, Stars Dance (2013) it topped the U.S. Billboard 200 topped her debut solo album"Stars Dance" (2013). The lead single, "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album Revival (2015) was released at the top of the charts in the US and was certified platinum by RIAA and was followed by three US top ten singles: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) the singer's third studio album, was her third consecutive top 10 album in the US. The album's lead track, "Lose You, to Love Me" was her first number one hit in the US. She also released Revelacion in Spanish and brought her the Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. The singer has been awarded many accolades, including being named Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2017. In 2017, she also broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most influential people on the planet in 2020. She has a massive following on social media and is the most popular actress and musician on Instagram. Gomez has also launched fragrance, makeup, and handbag lines. She is an UNICEF Ambassador from the age of 17 years old.
